MyStory
Who I amAs a young girl, I loved the freedom gymnastics gave me. The freedom to run, jump, flip, and fly. Not knowing where this fun hobby would take me, I dove in head first. Learning more skills, traveling to different places, and overcoming fears. Though, through it all there was always a plan. Gymnastics has taught me way more than a backflip. I hope that through getting to know me and my story, you learn how gymnastics has helped shape me into the woman that I am today.

When I was younger it was something I did for fun. I still do it for fun now, but I also do it to learn and to inspire young girls to believe in themselves, be the strongest and most powerful woman they can be, and to take the biggest dream they can dream and make it bigger.
My dream was to be a gymnast for Auburn University. My whole life, that was my dream. Not to go to the Olympics, not to go to any college. Auburn, that’s where I wanted to go. However, in 2016 I verbally committed to the University of Arkansas. This opportunity was amazing and I will forever be grateful for the people and time I had at Arkansas. However, that wasn’t my dream.

After lots of tears, a surgery, and prayers, I decommitted and recommitted on National Signing Day to Auburn University. I came as a walk-on but I knew every single day that this is where I belonged and knew that God was painting a masterpiece. My sophomore year, on October 22, I earned a scholarship. This was my dream. The biggest dream ever. EVER. Thank you, Jesus.

No matter what you do, where you go, take hope. Dream big. Then take that dream and make it bigger. Now start there. God is going to do amazing things with you and for you. Because YOU are HIS masterpiece.

I hope that throughout this journey, we will have the wonderful opportunity to grow together. I believe in you, now it's time for you to believe in you. When I look at this painting I see a talented artist who captured the strength that God has given me, the strength that my mother has shown me my entire life of what it looks like to be a strong woman, and my biggest dream to ever come true.

I love you,
Morgan Leigh

Support
Who you helpSince 1990, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Lee County has fulfilled its mission of enabling all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. Annually, our Clubs serve close to 2,000 youth through membership and community outreach – simply put, the Club is in when school is out! Our club youth have a safe place to go after school, where they know they are cared about and where they have expectations and are given the tools to succeed.

A study, conducted by the Institute for Social Research and the School of Public Health at the University of Michigan, found that every dollar invested in Boys & Girls Clubs returns $9.60 in current and future earnings, as well as cost-savings, to American communities.
The biggest benefits are from Club members’ improved grades and reduced alcohol use and their parents’ earnings. Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Lee County spends $550,000 annually on operating costs, resulting in $5,280,000 in lifetime benefits to youth, families and society.

Your donations to the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Lee County provide avenues for our young people to participate in character building activities with their peers. By donating, you afford a vast array of involvement opportunities to our youth as well as our staff. We are so grateful for your support!

Meet the

Artist
Jace MctierThe son of renowned portrait artist, Lucy McTier, Jace McTier has held a paint brush in his hand from the age of eleven months. After accompanying his mom to deliver a portrait of Ronald Reagan (atop Reagan’s beautiful stallion, El Alemain) to the Oval Office as a 5 year old, Jace decided then and there to enter the world of art. Combining his portrait skills and his desire to visually interpret motion as well as emotion, Jace has been able to capture not only the likeness of the subject, but the intensity of sport as well.

Recently hailed as the next Leroy Neiman, McTier’s bold color and powerful use of impasto ranks him among today’s leading sporting artists. With work collected by such clients as Kate Upton, Angelo Dundee and George Foreman to corporate commissions, his paintings benefit charities through the sale of his original work as well as print sales.
A recent project includes a joint venture with the Press On Fund and Jack Nicklaus to aid in finding a cure for childhood cancer. Jace McTier’s art has been exhibited multiple times publicly along with Leroy Neiman’s original paintings.
